Allan H. Fitchett

Allan H. Fitchett, age 66, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at the Fonda Nursing and Rehab Center in Fonda, Iowa.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, with Pastor Connie Spitzack officiating. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Allan Hale Fitchett, the son of Ivan and Charlotte (Hoch) Fitchett, was born at Storm Lake, Iowa, on September 21, 1940. Throughout Allan’s lifetime, he touched many people’s lives, having lived in numerous communities within northwest Iowa. He had resided at the Howard Center in Sac City, Iowa and most recently had been a resident of the Fonda Nursing and Rehab Center.

Allan enjoyed walking, fishing and camping. He liked to ride horses. His foot began to tap as soon as he heard music, but he was partial to country western tunes. He also liked to watch old westerns on TV. Allan loved to spend time on his aunts’ and uncles’ farms. His family was a very important part of his life and he cherished the times he could participate in family get-togethers. He will be deeply missed by his family.

Allan’s life will be remembered and celebrated by his brothers: Wilbur Fitchett of Columbus, Ohio and Duane and Sandy Fitchett of Storm Lake, Iowa; his step-mother, Frances Fitchett of Storm Lake; two nephews: Duane and Eric Fitchett of North Carolina; two nieces: Charlotte (Barry, Jr.) Copp of Newell, Iowa and Peggy Fitchett and Chad Bloyer of Galva, Iowa; three aunts: Fern Crowley of Lakeside, Iowa, Joyce (Don) Robbins of Alta, Iowa and Pearl Marlatt of Newell, Iowa; one uncle, LeRoy Fitchett of Newell, Iowa; many cousins, other family and friends.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond and several aunts and uncles.
