Edward J. Nuzum
Edward James Nuzum, age 78, of Truesdale, Iowa died Friday, July 15, 2005 at his home.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 19, 200t at the Moorehead Cemetery in Moorehead, Iowa under the direction of the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa. No visitation was held.
Edward was born May 3, 1927 to Leslie Stewart “Bud” and Elizabeth Mary (Mcagh) Nuzum. He grew up in the Pisgah and Little Sioux, Iowa area, where he attended school.
On June 19, 1945, Edward was united
in marriage to Lyela May Rowe at Logan, Iowa. They were blessed with
five children: Ed, Julie, Sandy, Linda and Randy.
Edward made his living doing farm work and working for an elevator.
Later in life, he was injured in an automobile accident, forcing his
retirement in 1970. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked to garden.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Ed Nuzum of Storm Lake, Iowa, Julie (Steve) Ross of Galva, Iowa, Linda (Jerry) Brittain of Kansas City, Missouri, and Randy (Cindy) Nuzum of Topeka, Kansas; his grandchildren: Amie, Carl, Christina, Tonya, Patsy, Susie, Nephi, Jesse, Jim and J.R.; step-grandchildren: Brandi and Toby; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Torgerson; and many other relatives and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lyela; and his daughter, Sandy Ettleman; two brothers: Pat Joseph Nuzum and Mike Peter Nuzum; and four sisters: Alice Gallas, Sena Teppery, Maude Points and Leona Nuzum.
