Lois Treinen, age 84, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Sunday, August 13, 2017, at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.  Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements.

Lois Ann Brummer, the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Burmeister) Brummer, was born in Albert City, Iowa, on August 18, 1932.  She lived her youth in the Marathon community and graduated with the Class of 1952 from the Marathon High School. While growing up, Lois enjoyed being a part of 4-H.

On May 16, 1953, Lois was united in marriage to Arnold E. Treinen at the St. John Lutheran parsonage in Storm Lake. The couple was blessed with one son, Mark.  Lois and Arnie’s married lifetime has been spent in Storm Lake where Lois was employed in the housekeeping department at the hospital for 21 years. 

Lois was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake where she sang in the church choir. Special interests of Lois’ included reading and watching television.

Lois’ life is honored and cherished by her family which include her husband, Arnold of Storm Lake, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Julie Treinen of Albert City, Iowa; sister, Lola Brock of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
